Our Story

Vancouver General Hospital (VGH) is a quaternary referral centre for SCAD patients throughout British Columbia & other provinces in Canada. Over 1000 SCAD patients are currently followed at the Vancouver SCAD Clinic. VGH as part of the University of British Columbia (UBC) has been at the forefront of SCAD research since 2011. VanSCAD2023

Welcome to the VanSCAD2023 homepage. The inaugural VanSCAD Conference in Vancouver was held on Sep7-8, 2018, followed by another successful in-person conference in 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 3rd and 4th VanSCAD conference were held virtually on Jan 30, 2021 and Feb 19, 2022. The 5th VanSCAD conference will be held in person in Vancouver and virtually on May 6-7, 2023.

An international team of SCAD experts will be on faculty in person to provide a contemporary update on SCAD during this 2 day conference. Target audience includes cardiologists (general, critical care, interventionists), internists, general practitioners, nurses, residents/fellows, students, and patients. Preliminary 2023 agenda and faculty are listed in the following pages. This event will be CME accredited by the Canadian Cardiovascular Society and the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the BC Chapter. Early registration is recommended as in-person space is limited (max 220) and open to all international attendees.
